There are several ways that you can get in touch with us, please choose one from the options below.
If you receive digital support from NHS Informatics Merseyside (IM), please use our IM Digital Portal to log your IT issue or digital support request. From the portal, you can also track the progress of previously raised support requests and access other useful digital support resources.
For urgent digital problems affecting patient care, multiple users or if you are unable to access the IM Digital Portal, please contact your IM IT Service Desk by telephone on 0151 296 7777
An online support form is also available for anyone who needs to contact our IM IT Service Desk.
Request a new Smartcard
Smartcard Sponsors are responsible for requesting new Smartcards.
To request a new Smartcard, please speak to your line manager or practice/site manager who will know who your local Smartcard Sponsor is.
Smartcard Sponsors should use the Apply for Care ID online service to raise a request for a new Smartcard.
Smartcard access
Smartcard access can be requested through the Care Identity Management (CIM) service.
Unlock a Smartcard
Smartcard passcodes can be reset using the self service unlock facility on the Care Identity Management (CIM) service.
Smartcard support
Smartcard support may include support with lost or expired cards and name changes.
Primary Care and Pharmacy colleagues in Cheshire East, Cheshire West, Liverpool, Sefton, Warrington and Wirral should go to the IM Digital Portal where guidance is available on accessing Smartcard support.
If you are a Primary Care or Pharmacy colleague in Halton, Knowsley or St Helens, please contact Mid Mersey Digital Alliance (MMDA) for Smartcard support.
General enquiries
For general enquiries, please call 0151 296 7888 or complete our general enquiries form.
If you receive IT support services from us, for urgent digital support, please call our IT Service Desk on 0151 296 7777. You can also instantly log and track IT requests online through our Self Service Portal.

For any media enquiries, please contact the IM Communications Team or telephone 0151 296 7888.
The IM Communications Team is operational Monday and Friday, 9am - 5pm (excluding Bank Holidays).
If your enquiry is outside of office hours, please call 0151 473 0303 (Mersey Care Switchboard) and you will be directed to our out of hours on call.
Freedom of Information (FOI) requests
The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act recognises that as a member of the public, you have the right to know how public services such as the NHS are organised and run; how much they cost; and how you can make complaints if you need to.
You have the right to know which services are being provided; the targets that are being set; the standards of services that are expected; and the results achieved.
If some or all of the information you request cannot be provided, we will give you the reason for this.
FOI requests for IM are managed through Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, which is the NHS organisation that hosts our service.
