Prestigious award for GATE - a new information gathering and assessment tool
Informatics Merseyside along with partners Liverpool Community Health NHS Trust, NHS Liverpool Clinical Commissioning, Liverpool City Council and Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust have been awarded the Best Nursing Technology category during the prestigious ehi Awards, which took place on Tuesday 31 October 2017.
The award was presented for the development of a new information gathering and patient assessment tool known as ‘GATE’, which is supporting local Community Care Teams to deliver a more proactive model of care for vulnerable patients in Liverpool. Judges were impressed by the cross organisational commitment to this work.
The trophy was presented to Tracey Carver, Clinical Lead for South Locality, who said: “It is fantastic that the tool we have developed and shared across the city is receiving national recognition.
“It’s a tribute to all those who have contributed to the development of the GATE tool, which is already successfully supporting many vulnerable people in our communities to keep well, remain independent and stay out of hospital wherever possible.”
The win is the second recognition the project has received, after also being nominated for a Nursing Times Awards, in the category of innovative use of ‘technology and data in nursing’.
