Important IT security update
Following the recent ransomware attack on the Irish Health Service, NHS Informatics Merseyside is working with regional and national agencies to ascertain more information regarding these attacks and would like to urge all NHS IT users to remain extra vigilant.
Sadly, cybercrime has been on the increase, with NHS healthcare professionals in particular being targeted with cyber scams pretending to deliver important coronavirus (COVID-19) updates and information.
Whilst NHS Informatics Merseyside’s IT Security Service has robust security measures in place for the identification and blocking of potential attacks, all colleagues are asked to remain vigilant and follow best practice. Do not open any suspicious links or attachments and please report anything unusual to spam@imerseyside.nhs.uk.
For further information on best practice and the risks to look out for, please read our guidance on being cyber savvy or read about our IT security service and the support available.
