During the roll-out of a new system or upgrade, Informatics Merseyside’s system support service is responsible for the set-up and configuration of the application in order to ensure that it best supports business or clinical processes. This involves working closely with healthcare professionals and system suppliers in order to ensure that the way the system operates meets local requirements and adheres with Information Standards Notices (ISNs).
As part of the implementation process, system support colleagues rigorously test and evaluate the system prior to go-live in order to ensure the change process remains as seamless as possible, with all IT users effectively engaged.
Informatics Merseyside also offers a Registration Authority (RA) service that deals with system access controls through the provision and management of Smartcards. These Smartcards ensure that healthcare professionals are able to access business and clinical systems appropriately according to their role and associated access permissions.
Business as usual support (BAU) is delivered on an on-going basis and is used to manage and resolve any day-to-day issues being experienced on a system.
Any faults or issues relating to a system, which require further development, will be escalated by Informatics Merseyside to the appropriate system supplier. This will then be actively monitored in order to deliver an effective solution as efficiently as possible.
Our system support experts regularly attend local and national system user groups and collectively, have years of experience in supporting critical system implementations and coordinating upgrades.
Over the years Informatics Merseyside has acquired a wealth of knowledge and experience in the use, deployment and configuration of EMIS Web across community services including Walk in Centres. Our skills and understanding of EMIS Web is second to none and we have successfully deployed EMIS Web across a range of services as well as providing advice on a country-wide level.
